GoDaddy Reseller Club

with 50 comments

godaddy.jpg

I recently found at that GoDaddy has a reseller club? Whats the advantage of this? Hopefully this blog post will clear up some of the misunderstandings and the urban legends. Lets take a look at the reseller club.

To sign up, it costs $89.99 per year….. But, will you even save with this club? Why not just use the GoDaddy coupon codes, normally referred to the “GoDaddy Loophole.” Here is a chart of the discounted prices that you get for joining the reseller club:

gdy_price.jpg

As you can see, you really don’t save to much. You can actually save more money by using the $6.95 .com coupon and the $20 and/or 20% off coupon codes. These are great for domainers who spend over $50 at one time. Is this worth it or is it a new scam for GoDaddy to generate more revenue? The decision is up to you.

  4. Hi guys, if you’re after a GoDaddy Pro Reseller account, you can get one for just $139*. It gets you cheap domains, hosting and all – plus you don’t need to pay the over priced amount that everyone else pays for a GoDaddy reseller account. To get the account for $139.00, first of you you make a purchase for $169.00 and after it has been running for 3 months you get $30 via PayPal. To get this deal send an email to support@blitzfly.com, with subject titled “Reseller Blog Purchase” after you have made a purchase and we will keep in touch with you for the first three months.

If you have any problems let me know.

    Cheers,
    Johnny.

  5. Hello,

Good information. I still don’t understand the benefit of this godaddy reseller program. Almost all of my design clients purchase 5 domains so to me it may make sense to to become a resller for godaddy.

I just don’t understand how I am going to make money. I currently use namecheap.com for domain names and it seems that I will at the very least save money becoming a reseller and having my clients sign up via me.

What am I buying the domains for and what am I able to sell them for?

Please help. Totally confused the more I read.

    Best Regards,

    JT

  6. Adwords and adcenter credits when you join.

Get backorders for $12, great to snap an expired domain.

no need to worry abt coupon codes and minimum payments.

I am offering basic reseller package for just $59.99 (and get $175 ad credits).

    IMHO, great deal.

  9. I had this godaddy reseller account for over a year. I invested thousands of dollars on advertising and a lot of time then figured out that almost every time one of MY leads calls “technical support” they break the agreement and tell him: “this is godaddy!!!”
when I call them and mention this they simply apologize (several times) and offer me my money back if I want you…. simply disgusting strategies!!

  11. Hi,

You save money by selling the hosting to your customers. If you are only buying domains and/or selling them it’s not necessarily worth it. Godaddy has given us great customer service.

  13. What a scam. Think about it.

You pay them to have your clients pay them yet again.

I have had the reseller account with godadaddy for 3 years, i have 30 domains, a few hosting accounts, my commision is about $50 off the $500 or so they rake in, then at the end of the year, I pay them another $100?? JFC they should be sued for this. I was an idiot to sign up. I just wanted my clients to have control over their domains, while also keeping an eye out for expires etc. Now im fkd.

    • THANK YOU for this info on your (crap) experience. I’ve been trying to figure out the GoDaddy re-seller accts vs. VDS packages. I think I’ll run my own server after this insight. I’ve had my own VPS for 6 years. I would HATE to just hand all that over to GoDaddy. Try ARVIXE they have been pretty great so far – IF – you have the few hours a week it takes to run your VPS properly. They do have really smart and honest tech support so far – they are not “yes to everything” people.

      best of luck.

  14. To the above user who thinks this is a scam. What the hell are you doing with a reseller account if you can’t market you business well enough to sell more than 500 bucks in stuff IN A YEAR?! 10 basic hosting plans more than covers this. I would think before you rate a company and state its scamming, you should look inward and figure out why you aren’t successful first.

  16. It ain’t about selling domains. Take a hint from GoDaddy. They make a fortune from the backend. They offer domain customers a zillion other addons like hosting and site builders and kitchen sinks.

If you can use the reseller account to get customers to buy a domain, chances are they will buy other services too. That’s where you’ll make money. And when they renew in a year, you get paid again.

  17. I started off over the last year as just an affiliate for GoDaddy referring my customers to links on my site and making money through CJ. After my business has grown though I decided I wanted more controls. I joined as a Super Reseller and so far cant say I have had any major problems. There arent a lot of design abilities but the site pretty much runs itself.

Like with any business you arent going to get rich overnight without doing any work. If you decide to start as a reseller you have to take the inititive to help your company to succeed. Once you have your footing in place the maintenance part gets smaller….but its a lot of work at start.

    Hope this helps!!

@ant coder- You can customize your site, reciepts and advertisement e-mails with your uploaded logo.

  30. Hello,

Please dont purchase hosting from them, Iam there reseller, and have purchased hosting from them , it my worst day when i select them as web hosting provider.

    1. Control panel totally useless, they even dont have file manager, They use net2ftp service as file manager, You can’t unzip large files, you cant zip large files, very dead slow file manager,

    2. Very less features in control panel, if you compare it with Cpanel.

    3. As far as support concern, they even dont give you reply in 24 hours. open ticket, call them, chat with them on support no use, you have to bear there 3rd quality web hosting services.

    4. Most of there servers are overloaded, they do not have any load balancing policy they just sell hosting without taking care of overloading issues, I have 3 web hosting with them 2 of those hosting get mostly down.

Here is a preview of there support quality:
